Greens of Padstow

Greens of Padstow makes it’s mark in a competitive and highly regarded food destination. Hart Miller Design were approached by the owners to develop their vision for an all-day café experience.

Overlooking the Camel Estuary, Greens was an underachieving cafe which the owners set to change. We worked closely with the management team to shape a strong and characterful identity for the space, which although in a coastal location, would not become a cliché.

We identified that the interior should be a blend of settings, generous in proportion and mixed in their layout to allow choice and variety to customers.

We explored just the right blend of texture and materials that brought a unique feeling to their space – one which could translate from light, airy summers through to cosy and intimate winters.

In tandem detailed planning in partnership with service contractors ensured catering for a high turnover could be achieved.

The result is a contemporary interpretation of a classic cafe, a destination which is sought out and one which is successfully serving 70,000 customers in a year.
